Heavy industry IV

Völklingen - June 2nd, 2009

Hey folks,

Here is my last submission for the Heavy industry-series and my last impression from our trip to Völklingen. It's a snapshot of my two friends on the top platform, where once the raw materials were tipped into the blast furnaces. But instead of the heat and the roar of the furnaces, today there are only us visitors, taking a slow stroll alongside the rusting constructions.
I really like how this shot turned out: Yet taken on a completly different occasion, it has got the same feeling of abandoned industrial plants during strikes or shift changeovers that I simply adore.

Oh, and please note: Safety is a major concern of the museum - hence the blue/yellow safety helmets!
